Troubleshooting

The HG 324 and supporting software should be trouble-free. If however, for any reason you experience or doubt a malfunction of the system, please check the following list of possible causes of trouble and their solutions before requesting a help from us.

Trouble Possible solution
bitwr complains: No HG324 unit(s) found at ports: COM1, COM2, LPT1 !
  • check that the HG 324 is connected to a port
  • check that the HG 324 is powered
  • force reading from the port where the HG 324 is connected
Starting any of: bitwr, bitplot or zero under Linux results in the Segmentation fault error
  • Try using another executable (there are two versions, one in the directory a:/Linux/libc5  the other in a:/Linux/gnulib2)
  • The executable in question does not have the rwsr-xr-x mode. As root type: chmod u+s executable_name
  • If this does not help, try executing the executable as the superuser.
Starting any of: bitwr, bitplot or zero under Linux results in the message:   no such file or directory.
  • Try using another executable (there are two versions, one in the directory a:/Linux/libc5  the other in a:/Linux/gnulib2)
  • If this does not help, check if you have all libraries that executable needs. Type: ldd executable_name If your system misses some libraries, install them.

If you did check all of these and you still experience problems, then request a support from us.
