Consoles vs PC gaming – which is better?

Arguments about which platform is better for gaming have existed for years and will exist for more to come. For example, when the last generation of consoles came out there was a lot of debate between them and PCs. Ultimately, everything hinged on what people wanted from their games: power or convenience? As a die-hard gamer, my first love were always consoles. They were more accessible and intuitive for me. Later on, I realized that PC games were more diverse – from the indie games that you can’t get on consoles to the shooters and MOBAs that I love to play. But are consoles really inferior as an alternative to PC gaming? Let’s find out!

The benefits of gaming consoles

There are many benefits to having a console. It’s a great way to play games with friends and family, and it can keep you busy for hours at a time.

The first benefit is that it gives you more options in terms of game selection. For example, if you have an Xbox One, you can choose between hundreds of different games. Some of these games are free while others require payment.

Another benefit is that consoles offer a better gaming experience than computers because they use dedicated graphics cards that were designed for gaming purposes. This means that your computer might not be able to handle certain games as well as your console would be able to do so.

Finally, consoles are usually cheaper than PCs because they don’t require any additional equipment like monitors or keyboards/mice which means that you won’t spend much money on them at all!

The benefits of PCs

For starters, PCs give you more options in terms of hardware and software. You can get the best graphics card and processor for your money, or build your own PC with whatever parts you want. You have more options for peripherals like mice and keyboards, too. And if you have an old mouse that’s just not cutting it anymore, you can buy new ones any time—you don’t have to wait for new models to come out!

Another huge benefit is that PCs are more customizable than consoles. You can change the size of the screen (or even play on multiple screens), change the game’s resolution or framerate, adjust color settings until your eyes bleed… all sorts of things that let you make your game look exactly how YOU want it to look.

And finally: mods! Mods are one of the biggest reasons why people prefer gaming on PCs over consoles—mods let you do things like add new maps, characters, weapons and vehicles into your favorite games. You can even completely overhaul existing gameplay systems or create entirely new games using modding tools.

Conclusion

It really comes down to what you want from your gaming experience. Since very gamer is different, I’ve come up with these three points to consider when deciding:

Price: Consoles are cheaper than PCs (even with the cost of a monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers).

Quality: If you want high quality graphics and sound, a PC is where it’s at. Consoles can’t match up but do offer some pretty good graphics for their price point.

Games: PCs have more games available than consoles and offer a wider range of genres to choose from. Consoles also have their own exclusives which makes them worth considering as well.
